Course overview

This course was developed by TAFE SA to respond to the workforce development needs of the civil and structural consulting industry in South Australia. Designed in collaboration with industry, the course prepares you to become a design drafter. As a design drafter you will be preparing drawings, documentation and specifications, inspecting works and estimating costs. Topics include construction practice, mathematics, computing for engineering, basic drawing, construction geotechnics, water infrastructure, civil drawing, structural analysis, environmental engineering, computer science and project management. To complete the qualification you are required to complete 15 core and 2 elective units.
