If you're looking for a rewarding career in education, La Trobe's Associate Degree of Teacher Education is a perfect pathway to an accredited teaching degree. When you successfully complete the Associate Degree of Teacher Education, you could progress to a Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary). You'll also receive advanced standing for up to two years of full-time study. You'll develop strong foundational skills in professional literacy and numeracy, as well as knowledge of contemporary approaches to learning.

Standard entry

Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (20) - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

  • Recent secondary education - UAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (Band 2) - equivalent to VCE 20 - One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 2), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 3).
  • Non Year 12 - Vocational Education & Training: VET prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
  • Non Year 12 - Higher Education study: HE prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
  • International: IELTS - Course specific - IELTS (Academic) score of 7.5 with no individual band score less than 7.0
