With the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD) Graduate Entry course you will undertake clinical experience in some of the countrys most highly regarded centres of medical care and expertise. Your first year of study will be undertaken at Monash Rural Health Churchill giving you an unforgettable rural experience. Monash University is the only Victorian university to offer a direct entry medical program for students completing year 12 as well as a graduate entry program for students who are completing a specific Monash degree. These two pathways will lead you to the same degree

Entry requirements

Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.

Postgraduate entry

To be eligible for consideration you must have (or be in the final year of completing) a degree with significant and broad biomedical science content from an internationally recognised university with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.0 out of 7.0.

  • Interviews for students who have or are completing an undergraduate (UG) degree with significant and broad biomedical science content from an internationally recognised university are offered based on the applicants UG Grade Point Average (GPA).

A GPA of 6.0 out of 7.0 is required for consideration.

Shortlisted students will be invited to attend an interview process.

English requirement
IELTS 6.5, no band below 6TOEFL iBT 79, no band below 20PTE Academic 58-64, no band below 50Cambridge C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency 176-184, no band below 169

If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
