Course overview

Develop a deep understanding of theory and current research into diverse areas such as learning, motivation, child and adolescent development (including brain development), thinking skills and individual differences. The program is suited for teachers of children of all ages and highly relevant for those working in other diverse fields of education practice and policy.

Postgraduate entry

Admission to this course requires:

  • a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of postgraduate studies, or professional experience equivalent to one year full time in a field considered by the Faculty to be appropriate to the program of study
  • a bachelors degree and either the Graduate Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification
  • a bachelors degree from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification, and either the completion of postgraduate studies, or professional experience equivalent to two years full time, in a field considered by the School to be appropriate to the program of studies
  • completion of the embedded Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies (Educational Psychology) from the University of Sydney
  • equivalent qualification.
