It includes modern techniques with total stations, levels, satellite positioning (GPS/GNSS), laser scanning, photogrammetry (drone surveying), airborne and marine navigation, digital mapping, satellite and airborne remote sensing, specialised alignment mine and engineering surveying, and geographic information systems (GIS). The research focus of an Honours degree provides a pathway for career advancement. Students are required to complete at least three months employment in their field during the course of their degree .
