Today, mathematics is used in most fields, including technology, natural science, engineering, medicine, finance and the social sciences such as sociology and psychology. Employment prospects are good as mathematics graduates have high level problem solving skills. The Mathematics Major can be a stepping stone to a wide and diverse career. Alongside this major, students can take a specialisation in Optimisation, Industrial Mathematics, Actuarial Mathematics or Applied Finance. The major provides students with the foundation knowledge and skills necessary to pursue their interest in these areas of mathematics.

The course has been designed by researchers at Curtin Business School to support the development of next-generation innovators. Practical Experience / Workbased Learning:
You’ll learn how to apply critical business knowledge, creative thinking and innovation skills to the discipline of your choice. You’ll also have transformative experiences such as regional and international study tours, hackathons, internships and other work-integrated learning opportunities.
Additionally, as an Innovation student you can join the Curtin Ignition and Curtin Accelerate entrepreneurship programs, and access executive education masterclasses that are designed to help you set up your own enterprise.
