This course uses the ATAR as part of its selection considerations.
Bridging and enabling courses
Some prerequisites for this course can be satisfied by successfully completing specific subjects offered through Unilearn and achieving the minimum overall grade.

Applicants who complete Unilearn studies must also submit a copy of their 'Statement of Achievement' and transcript to VTAC.
Regional Adjustment
Applicants whose residential address is classified as RA2 or higher using the Australian Statistical Geographic Standard - Remoteness Area (ASGS-RA) (2021) qualify for a regional adjustment.

Subject adjustment
A study score of 20 in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, any LOTE, Physics or Psychology equals 4 aggregate points per study.
Overall maximum of 12 points.
SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme)
Applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage are encouraged to apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).
Depending on eligibility and your circumstances, a SEAS application may provide support for your course application.

Recent Year 12 graduates
Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)
You may satisfy the academic requirements by completing the STAT multiple choice if you:
- are not currently studying an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent)
- have no prior secondary school (Year 12), Vocational Education and Training (VET) studies, Higher Education (HE) studies or relevant work experience that can be considered for entry,
- do not meet the minimum academic requirements for the program.

Work Recognition
Applicants seeking consideration via Work Recognition must complete all requirements listed on the La Trobe University Work Recognition webpage and submit a VTAC Personal Statement, including relevant work experience and reasons for applying for this course.

Applicants can complete and submit a Personal Statement if they wish other information to be considered during the selection process.
This may include information such as work or community experience or reasons for applying.

English language test selection
Applicants who have undertaken studies in a language other than English must demonstrate that they have achieved the required minimum scores in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic) or equivalent.
