The Bachelor of Commerce Programme places emphasis on applied knowledge and 'hands-on' skill development. In addition to the acquisition of specialised knowledge, high importance is placed on the development of core transferrable skills (such as communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills) because both types of 'know how' are needed by work ready graduates capable of adding immediate value in industry. The Bachelor of Commerce Programme places strong emphasis on the involvement of practitioners and business experts who often provide guest lecturers adding to the best practice focus of the curriculum. Standard entry

University entrance or any qualification (New Zealand or overseas) recognised by NZQA as being equivalent.

All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level.

Those students whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate an IELTS Academic Score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 issued in the last 2 years or the equivalent.

In exceptional circumstances, an applicant who does not meet the academic requirements may be granted entry.

They must supply evidence (eg of relevant skills, education or work experience) to satisfy the Head of Department (or delegate) of their ability to successfully complete the Bachelor of Commerce.

It is strongly recommended that students are able to competently utilise digital applications and technologies, and have access to same.
